CARVER BAKE OFF '22

We recently held our annual Carver Bake Off, with a number of entries from across the company!

Congratulations to Jo Lane & James Carver who were runners up with their Ginger & White Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Delight, with the award for Star Baker going to Emma Darnell this year!

Thank you to our resident judge and experienced baker, Ashley Carver who had the difficult job of eating a bit of every cake, and then the even more difficult job of judging the winners!

With the generosity of our team across the company we have raised £75 to donate to TeamLuke Foundation, a charity which Carver's have been sponsoring recently in their various fundraising challenges.

For more information on TeamLuke visit https://www.justgiving.com/teamlukefoundation

Team Luke Foundation's aims are to make more people aware of neuroblastoma, help parents access key services & information, provide practical support, & fund research to improve diagnosis & develop kinder treatment.

DARLINGTON CARES!

Several of our team including James & Henry Carver joined a force of litter pickers helping to clean up the streets near Firthmoor Community Centre!

Darlington Cares offers a coordinated approach to corporate social responsibility by utilising the skills, expertise, knowledge and volunteering resources of local businesses and their employees. These are matched to bespoke volunteering projects or existing community groups and charities.

Volunteering projects are delivered across three key areas:

  • Education
  • Environment
  • Social Justice

They work closely with Darlington Partnership, the local authority, public services and the third sector, to identify and understand the key areas of need within the borough.

To date, their fantastic employee volunteers have given nearly 30,000 hours of volunteering in less than 7 years, helping out schools, community groups, charities and young people in some of the town’s most disadvantaged areas.

Darlington Cares is not for profit and is funded through a combination of public and private sector membership contributions and also grant funding through County Durham Community Foundation. We are kindly hosted by Darlington Borough Council.
